RS-232 to RS-485 Converter with 5 pin Terminal Block

The EX-47901 RS-232 to RS-485 converter can be used for any PC, workstation or server with an RS-232 interface. It is equipped with a 9 pin female connector that you can connect directly to your RS-232 serial port. The EX-47901 converts unbalanced, full-duplex RS-232 signals into balanced half-duplex RS-485 signals. The RS-232 port is configured as a DCE port and has a DB9 socket supporting pin 2 (TXD input), pin 3 (RXD output) and pin 5 (signal ground). The following pins are bridged: pin 7 (RTS) with pin 8 (CTS) and pin 6 (DSR) with pin 1 (CD) with pin 4 (DTR).

• 2-wire RS-485 (Data+/-, Data+/-, Half-duplex)
• ATTATM: Supports RS-485 Auto Transceiver Turn Around Feature, Supports Echo Mode for RS-485 Mode.
• Terminator: 4.5 KΩ
• Operating voltage comes from RS-232 signal, external power supply possible but not needed in most cases
